Jessy Ayala has passed his dissertation topic proposal defense. His proposed dissertation, with the working title Exploring Security Challenges in Open-Source Software Through Maintainers and Vulnerability Reports, studies how open-source maintainers handle bug bounty reports, CVEs, vulnerability disclosure, and platform security features, and proposes a maintainer-informed triage system.
